The Role

In each post (Deputy Director for Prisons Data; Deputy Director for HQ and Agencies Data) you will be leading a team of around 50-75 staff who are dedicated to using our rich operational data and innovative techniques to improve the justice system.

This is an exciting time to be taking on these roles. The Deputy Director for Prisons Data will be responsible for all the Directorate’s work on Prisons, enabling the use of data for the efficient running of prisons; keeping prisoners and staff safe,  and helping to prepare offenders for release into the community. You will also contribute to the delivery of the Independent Sentencing Reviews recommendations.

The Deputy Director for HQ and agencies will be leading an ambitious programme of transformation across MoJ headquarters and HMCTS, the Legal Aid Agency, Office of the Public Guardian, and Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority. You will drive efficiencies and services through better use of data analytics and engineering, and quality data management. You will also contribute to delivering the recommendations of the Independent Review of Criminal Courts (IRCC).
