Summary

Capable of collecting test data, monitoring and inspecting plant equipment, makes preliminary recommendations using lubrication, thermography, vibration, and other predictive maintenance technologies.

Minimum Requirements

  • High school graduate or GED.
  • Capable of being certified to ANSI/ANS 3.1,1978 in accordance with section 4.5 training requirements.
  • Has at least one year of work experience in the nuclear field.
  • Requires basic knowledge of math.
  • Must be able to read and comprehend technical data.

 

Nuclear Requirement

Any PVNGS employee may be called upon to serve as a member of the Emergency Response Organization (ERO) and will be expected to fulfill their obligation as an ERO member.
This is a condition of employment at PVNGS.
Roles and Responsibilities defined in Policy 1503 and implementing policy guide are applicable to all PVNGS employees.
This position may require access to and/or use of information subject to control under the Department of Energy Part 810 Regulations (10 CFR Part 810), the Export Administration Regulations (EAR) (15 CFR Parts 730 through 774), or the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR Chapter I, Subchapter M Part 120) (collectively, U.S. Export Control Laws).
Therefore, this position requires applicants to be a U.S. person, which is defined as a U.S. Citizen, a U.S. Lawful Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), a Political Asylee, or a Refugee under the U.S. Export Control Laws. All applicants for this position will be required to confirm their U.S. person status.

Major Accountabilities

  • Assists in establishing conditions and performing testing using test systems under the direction of a qualified technician.
  • Assists in performing surveillance and predictive maintenance testing to measure plant efficiency under the direction of a qualified technician.
  • Assists in maintaining a high level of proficiency in the usage, application, and care of a wide variety of moderately complex measuring and test equipment under the direction of a qualified technician.
  • Assists a qualified technician in obtaining necessary information from staff engineers, technical publications, plant drawings, vendors, and manufacturers for plant equipment and performance of surveillance and predictive maintenance testing.
  • Works with a qualified technician in the performance of detailed testing, assists in preparation of maintenance history records, and reports.
  • Performs predictive maintenance activities as directed.
  • Ability to achieve accurate and reproducible test results.
  • Ability to perform assigned duties independently with limited supervision.
  • Operates, calibrates and maintains analytical instrumentation as directed.
  • Participates in training programs and seminars and successfully complete documented training programs requirements.
