What You'll Be Doing

Job Scope: Acting as a key point of contact for investments to ensure we stay at the leading edge of the industry. In this role, you will marry the skills of a disciplined and efficient project manager with a solid understanding of industrial automation and process control. Your primary responsibilities include the safe and effective execution of small and medium capital projects,($ 200K - $5MM) while managing all stakeholder expectations including support for the development and implementation of capital projects consistent with requirements as defined by the site and region, as well as all appropriate related contracting strategies.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Lead capital investment projects by providing direction in the support of critical tasks such as engineering, process evaluations development, operating procedures, equipment selection, and project support.

  • Champion project scope development and ensure basic engineering completeness while applying techniques that add value.

  • Manage multiple small- and medium-size projects that vary in scope and complexity. Project types can include multiple engineering disciplines (facilities, infrastructure, processing, automation).

  • Be relied on to maintain a safe and productive workplace and ensure compliance with all applicable policies, procedures, and technical standards.

  • Lead the development of project technical packages that include P&IDs, equipment layouts, specifications of components in full compliance with applicable industry standards.

  • Generate RFQ packages for competitive bidding, review of vendor submittals, and work with Procurement to purchase necessary equipment.

Ideal Background

Education:  Bachelor or Master of Science degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical or Civil Engineering from an accredited university is preferred.  

Certification: Professional Engineering and/or Project Management Professional (PMP) registration is highly preferred.  

Experience: This position requires 5+ years of relevant experience in engineering and project management.

  • Knowledge of the Hargrove project execution procedures.

  • Knowledge and application of company business standards and good practices.

  • Knowledge and application of company engineering standards and project controls tools.

  • Demonstrated proficiency in complex project management.

  • Ability to lead a team to deliver on commitments.

  • A comprehensive understanding of the function of all engineering disciplines, procurement, and construction processes.

  • Ability to manage client relationships in complex situations.

  • Ability to relate easily to others in the business community such as customers, suppliers, contractors, government, professional and trade associations.

  • Ability to handle stress with poise.

  • Understanding of existing and potential customer needs and preferences.
