The Janitor/Custodian is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly environment throughout the dealership. This role supports the showroom, service department, customer areas, and administrative offices to ensure a professional appearance and a positive customer experience.

Key Responsibilities

Facility Cleaning & Maintenance

• Clean and sanitize restrooms, breakrooms, customer lounges, and office spaces.

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors in showroom and service areas.

• Empty trash and recycling receptacles throughout the facility.

• Clean windows, glass doors, display cases, and other surfaces.

• Dust furniture, fixtures, and dealership displays.

Service Department / Shop Support

• Maintain cleanliness of service bays, technician areas, and parts delivery zones.

• Remove shop debris, used parts, cardboard, and trash.

• Clean spills and ensure compliance with safety standards.

• Assist with maintaining inventory of cleaning supplies.

Outdoor / Grounds Upkeep

• Keep entryways, walkways, and customer parking areas clean and presentable.

• Remove litter, sweep sidewalks, and clear debris.

• Assist with seasonal tasks such as snow/ice removal or leaf clearing.

General Support

• Report maintenance issues or safety hazards to management.

• Follow all dealership, OSHA, and safety guidelines.

• Assist with special cleaning projects as needed.

Qualifications

• Previous janitorial or custodial experience preferred (automotive environment a plus).

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment (floor scrubbers, vacuums, etc.).

• Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and safety procedures.

• Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently.

• Ability to lift up to 40–50 lbs and perform physical tasks for extended periods.
