Job Description:

The Corporate Communications Manager I manages/leads development and/or execution of plans/programs/projects/strategies by designing and delivering communications consistent with TD’s corporate standards and strategies, and in support of business results.

TD’s U.S. Corporate and Public Affairs (CAPA) team is responsible for building and enhancing TD Bank’s employer and corporate brand, increasing awareness of TD’s products and services, protecting the bank’s reputation, and elevating the expertise of TD’s leaders, internally and externally.

We do this by playing a critical role that directly influences business outcomes through strategic counsel, high-impact brand positioning, results-focused initiatives, and message development and communications best practices that deepen engagement with our customers, colleagues, communities and each other.

This Corporate Communications Manager will drive internal and external storytelling for TD's U.S. Consumer Bank, partnering with leaders as they deliver products, services, and in-store experiences that make a difference in the lives of TD customers. This individual will work closely with other CAPA colleagues and with partners in marketing and elsewhere throughout the organization to identify opportunities and ensure consistent, coordinated storytelling that maximizes TD’s visibility and influence, particularly as it relates to TD's investment in customer experience.

  • Manages communications projects/programs/initiatives of low to moderate scope and complexity

  • Expert level communications professional role requiring in-depth knowledge/expertise in own domain/field of specialty and working knowledge of broader related areas

  • Integrates the broader organizational context into advice and solutions within own area

  • Understands the industry, competition and the factors that differentiate the organization

  • Applies best practices to implement process, product or service improvements

  • Acts as a subject matter expert within own area of specialty and/or as a resource for others

  • Leads projects of moderately to complex risks and resource requirements; may lead end-to-end processes or functional programs

  • Contributes to setting standards within area of expertise

  • Solves complex problems requiring analysis of multiple variables, including consultation with multiple stakeholders

  • Uses advanced methods to contribute to new solutions and recommends standards against which others will operate

  • Impacts a range of functional programs and operations across own and related teams

  • Interprets guidelines, standards, policies and results of analyses to inform decision making at senior levels

  • Builds stakeholder alignment in leading projects and activities; may provide process and subject matter advice at senior levels

  • Works independently as the senior technical lead and guides others within area of expertise

  • Identifies and leads problem resolution for complex issues at all levels

Education & Experience:

  • Undergraduate degree or relevant professional certifications, designations, or equivalent required

  • 5+ years relevant experience

  • Proficient knowledge of multiple communications disciplines, media channels, internal/external audiences, public relations, consulting principles, lines of businesses supported, banking industry, and customers supported
