The Global Finance Technology (GFT) organization is looking to hire a dynamic engineering leader to support our domestic Shared Finance landscape. The Shared Finance portfolio is responsible for delivering financial & regulatory premium & loss capabilities aligned with finance business priorities, supporting Corporate, GRS, and USRM. This team is a critical contributor to the development, delivery, and support of the long-term Finance ecosystem product vision. We support our financial book close processes across a broad landscape of premium & loss financial ecosystems in addition to Reinsurance, Actuarial and Enterprise Risk Management capabilities.

 

The candidate will manage production support and continuous optimization of our existing financial processes in support of meeting established KPI targets, including critical month-end financial close activities. Drive modernization efforts aligned with GFT’s strategic technology vision and north star architecture. Responsible for hiring, managing, and supporting individuals and vendor partners across multiple project teams to enable Shared Finance production support and successful modernization efforts. Builds strong relationships with our Product Owners and business partners to create a motivating work environment where Technology and Business visions are aligned. Embodies a growth mindset and creative, strategic thinking. Ensures teams are constantly learning and delivering quality within engineering excellence guardrails (ex. High Performance Engineering). Responsible for coaching and evaluating individual and team performance. Understands tools, architecture, security and scalability needs for the portfolio and provides guidance to the team. Manages total cost of ownership and advocates for the removal of technical debt. Champions agile methodology and creates a team environment where agile practices can thrive.

 

 

About the Job:

 

  • Ensures the Shared Finance technology ecosystems are enhanced and maintained to meet business needs.
  • Understands the Finance domain and product vision and aligns the team toward the shared goals for the portfolio.
  • Participates in the development of business and/or technology vision, strategies, critical success factors and operating plans for Shared Finance & Global Finance Technology (GFT).
  • Manages the quality of work delivered by team members and deals effectively with performance issues in a timely manner.
  • Demonstrates exceptional People Leadership through the coordination and delivery of performance reviews as well as enablement of professional development, including rotations and special assignments.
  • Monitors team effectiveness and addresses issues affecting team productivity.
  • Removes roadblocks and obstacles; manages interdependencies when needed.
  • Initiates and fosters collaborative partnerships with current and potential partners, technology and business managers, consultants and technology executives; develops relationships that support increasing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Facilitates or provides mentoring experiences. Provides relevant technical coaching and support to team members.
  • Hires talent and actively engages in recruiting processes.
  • Coordinates with vendors and consulting partners to ensure talent management, onboarding and transition are performed in a consistent manner.
  • May establish financial plan for the application, portfolio or overall unit and manages to plan.
  • May lead efforts to evaluate, select and implement new technologies to enhance application or platform.

Qualifications

  • Experience with Financial systems and processes strongly preferred
  • 3 years in a leadership role preferred
