The Maintenance Team Lead will be expected to perform all Maintenance Department responsibilities, as well as, provide leadership to their respective shift of Maintenance personnel. Duties are to include (but not limited to): work assignments as directed by the Maintenance Manager, follow up on repairs and projects to ensure correctness, accuracy and timeliness; provide input on P. M. schedules and instructions when necessary. The incumbent provides appropriate safety training instruction for maintenance repair procedures, provides input on reviews for their respective shift's personnel, assists in interviewing candidates to fill open positions, monitors shift vacation loading and overtime distribution, monitors attendance and any others duties as assigned. The incumbent monitors status (on a daily basis) of ongoing work for priority review with a sense of urgency and instructs co-workers in duties and training appropriate to their skill level and ability. The incumbent will issue and prioritize job assignments to co-workers on a daily basis. Communication is key to this position, whether it is be with supervision, production personnel or shift-to-shift communication within the Maintenance Department. Communication is to be conducted in a constructive and skillful manner. The incumbent may be asked to represent the Maintenance Department in meetings with suppliers, as well as, other various meetings with plant and/or divisional personnel.
What You'll Do:
This position reports to the Maintenance Manager and is responsible for providing a wide variety of maintenance and electrical repair and service to the building, grounds and equipment.
The applicant must support the die cast, machining and other services' efforts to keep a continuous flow of high quality castings through the plant and to the customer by accurately providing and reporting the significant aspects of the visual, dimensional, and process information available.
The applicant must promote a predictive, not reactive, maintenance philosophy by taking a proactive approach to preventative maintenance and quality.
This position, as well as all others in the facility, must promote plant wide safety and housekeeping, and follow established guidelines for visual management.
- Observe devices in operation to locate root cause of problem
- Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts
- Adjust functional parts of devices and control instruments
- Repair and/or replace defective parts; testing of device to observe performance; test for electrical and hydraulic circuitry and mechanical systems; order supplies and repair items as necessary
- Support continuous improvement of the PM work instructions; adding, removing, defining these instructions and express improvements suggested to the Maintenance Manager
- Engage in proactive maintenance activities that include repairing air leaks, oil leaks, replacing components, continuous improvement activities, project work, and minor repairs to equipment
- Act as a proactive team member and work closely with the maintenance Supervisor
- Analyze and recommend engineered solutions to failures
- Troubleshoot and repair PLC problems
- Perform Lockout/Tag out procedures for equipment
- Lay out, wire, build, and troubleshoot electrical panels and/or other machinery
- Provide leadership and assistance

What We Need from You:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
