ABOUT Hermosa    

Hermosa, located approximately 75 miles south-east of Tucson, Arizona, is the only advanced mining project in the United States as of 2023 that could produce two federally designated critical minerals—manganese and zinc—as well as silver and lead. The project has the potential to help power the nation’s clean energy future, strengthen the domestic supply chain of critical minerals, grow the local economy, and improve lives in Santa Cruz County and the surrounding community for generations to come.

The Role:

The Field Logistics Technician performs work in support of project geology, exploration geology and planning geology activities while ensuring strict adherence to safety standards at the project site. 

 

Accountabilities (Include but are not limited to):

• Ensures and maintains safe practicies in alignment with South32 Hermosa standards and core values.
• Drive zero harm workplace through visible felt leadership, stop work authority, and other safety programs in place.
• Upholds safety and environmental standards and compliance.
• Performs work in support of the collection, processing, storage, and cataloguing of geological samples, ensuring consistency and quality control.
• Participates in mandatory and necessary training as required.
• Participates in professional development activities.
• Participates in regular one-on-one review meetings with supervisor(s)
• Attends and participates in all relevant meetings.
• Interacts with vendors for the delivery of equipment and materials and collection of geological samples for processing.
• Field activities in support of Hermosa Exploration as required.

 

Qualifications, Skills, and Expertise:

• High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Must have valid driver’s license and the ability to be covered under company insurance.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain safety awareness, and visible field safety leadership.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• High standards of professional and ethical conduct.
• Ability to work under pressure, maintain composure, set priorities, and work with a myriad of personalities and diverse work cultures.
• English language written and oral communication skills.
