What You’ll Do:

  • Design, develop, and deploy solutions for wireless and broadband billing platforms, ensuring alignment with industry standards and future-ready architectures.
  • Lead the integration of microservices-based systems, overseeing real-time rating, charging, account management, and complex billing scenarios.
  • Architect and implement event-driven integrations using Kafka, Confluent Cloud, and distributed NoSQL databases like Couchbase.
  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for increased performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, compliant, and highly available solutions across ordering and assurance domains.
  • Mentor team members, establish engineering standards, and influence the strategic direction of billing technology.
  • Oversee platform operations, deployment, and maintenance strategies, ensuring robust audit and compliance support.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively across teams and stakeholders.

What you’ll need:

This role is crucial for managing and ensuring the optimal performance and security of our Workday, Infor SaaS, and other applications. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the application environment management, coordinating maintenance and enhancements, managing vendor relations, and ensuring the seamless operation of our SaaS and non-SaaS applications.

What You’ll Bring:

  • 8+ years of experience in system engineering, architecture, or software development.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
  • Deep expertise in wireless/broadband billing systems and strong experience with microservices architecture using Java.
  • Hands-on experience with event-driven integrations (Kafka, Confluent Cloud), containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), and distributed NoSQL databases (Couchbase).
  • Proven track record in designing secure, scalable, and resilient systems, with expertise in security by design and regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with AI-driven application development, quality monitoring, and system scalability.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking, and technical documentation skills.
  • Strong mentoring abilities and a collaborative approach to driving continuous improvement.

Our Principal System Engineering earns between $ 158,200-$237,400 USD Annual, not to mention all the other amazing rewards that working at AT&T offers. Individual starting salary within this range may depend on geography, experience, expertise, and education/training.
