The Senior Learning and Instruction Manager (SLIM) will work with the Learning and Instruction team to support Impact Department leadership in developing site learning strategy. The SLIM will oversee the successful execution of the AmeriCorps Volunteer (ACV) Learning and Development strategy by coordinating the scheduling and implementation of site learning activities. The Senior Learning and Instruction Manager (SLIM) will report to the Senior Director of Learning and Instruction (SDLI).-This is a year-round position, with a minimum of 4 days in-person at the office, Philadelphia and/or Norristown area schools, and Learning and Development Day (LDD) venues.
-The compensation range for this position is $57,000 to $62,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
-The anticipated start for this position is September 2026
Job Description
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s/Associate’s degree in education, business administration, human resources or comparable experience
3-5 years of experience in curriculum development, adult learning, training and facilitation or comparable experience
Authorized documentation to work in the United States of America
Criminal background history clearance to work with school-age children
Preferred Qualifications
City Year/AmeriCorps experience is a plus
Responsibilities
The Senior Learning and Instruction Manager will perform the following roles and responsibilities as described below:
Learning Strategy & Program Design
Partner with Impact department leadership to design a site learning strategy that centers on City Year’s culture, Clover Model, and Corps curriculum to drive Corps development
Oversee the yearlong scope and sequence for learning, ensuring all training from onboarding to graduation is scaffolded to meet the evolving needs of AmeriCorps volunteers
Customize national and local instructional content to ensure it remains relevant and effective for the varied needs of our Corps
Learning Logistics & Event Management
Lead the end-to-end orchestration of major site learning events and milestones, including Summer Learning Institute, Mid-Year Summit, and Learning and Development Days, ensuring all logistics, materials, and venue setups are prepared
Manage site-wide learning calendars, ensuring all training operations are resource-efficient and aligned with department goals
Cultivate partnerships with internal and external content experts to deliver high-quality, sequenced training sessions that prepare our AmeriCorps volunteers for service with students
Facilitator Coaching & Content Delivery
Build the capacity of our Impact team by preparing, coaching, and supporting internal and external facilitators to deliver engaging, high-impact learning sessions
