Knowesis is currently seeking an exceptional Consultant Subject Matter Expert (SME) – Armed Services Blood Program (Senior) to join our team and provide invaluable support to the Armed Services Blood Program Division (ASBPD) Business Management Support contract for the Defense Health Agency (DHA).
To be eligible for this position, candidates must have or have the ability to obtain a Public Trust clearance and possess U.S. Citizenship without the need for sponsorship, both now and in the future. Applicants without proof of U.S. Citizenship will not be considered due to the position’s security clearance requirements.
The Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
- Support the Armed Services Blood Program Division (ASBPD) in the management of program policies, quota management, reporting, and overseas operations
- Provide analytical and advisory support related to blood collection, processing, shipping, and transfusion activities executed by the Army, Navy, and Air Force Service Blood Programs
- Assist ASBPD in monitoring and implementing guidance and standards established by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the Association for the Advancement of Blood and Biotherapies (AABB), and other applicable accreditation agencies
- Conduct data-driven analysis to support operational improvements while maintaining fiscal responsibility
- Support the use of business enterprise architecture to align operations with established strategic plans and objectives
- Contribute to initiatives that enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and service delivery across the Armed Services Blood Program (ASBP)
- Prepare reports and analyses that support leadership decision-making and program oversight
- Travel required: Occasional domestic and international travel may be required
Required Qualifications:
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a Clinical Laboratory Scientist supporting Department of Defense military and/or civilian customers
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant scientific field
- Analytical skills with a strong aspect of transfusion medicine.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Possess the ability to build relationships and effectively manage expectations with diverse stakeholders.
- Expertise in blood typing, crossmatching, and blood product compatibility testing, including an understanding of potential differences in practices between US and other countries.
- Report on blood product compatibility.
- Ability to assess different country blood supply chains, including collection, processing, storage, and distribution capabilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience supporting federal or military healthcare programs
- Familiarity with enterprise-level business management or data-driven operational improvement initiatives
- Experience working with international healthcare or laboratory systems
