Position Summary
Nomad is seeking a talented, highly motivated, and business-oriented senior commercial counsel with extensive experience managing all areas of commercial law to join the growing Nomad Legal Team. This attorney will be Nomad’s first attorney focused on commercial matters. Nomad offers a quick-paced and busy environment, and this role requires excellent business judgment, personal integrity, self-sufficiency, and organizational skills. This position reports directly to the General Counsel.
Responsibilities/What You Will Do
- Serve as a key legal advisor on a variety of commercial transactions, including strategic partner relationships, customer contracts, and vendor agreements.
- Partner with our Sales, Client Services, Procurement teams to build out and manage Nomad’s commercial contracts function.
- Develop enablement tools (playbooks, trainings, etc.), templates, and negotiation processes to establish best-in-class practices at Nomad.
- Collaborate cross functionally with our internal teams (Privacy, Marketing, Operations, Finance, Security, Product and Engineering) on development and documentation of new features and services.
- Advise and assist with Nomad’s general legal needs as they arise.
Qualifications/ Skills - What You Will Need
- Law degree from an accredited U.S. law school and an active admission to a State Bar.
- 8+ years of contract law experience with a law firm or corporate legal department.
- Experience with both SaaS and staffing contracts.
- Experience in data privacy and information security is preferred.
- Ability to work with department leaders, and compliance, to develop and implement internal policies.

Bonus Qualifications
- Experience creating contract templates and/or experience managing contract management systems (e.g. IronClad) is a plus.
- Willingness to help out with whatever else needs to be done in the Legal department.
Compensation for this full-time position is between $166,000 to $259,500. This range reflects the minimum and maximum amount employees can earn during their time in the role. Actual pay may be higher or lower depending on geographic locations, skills, experience, and other factors permitted by law. This role is also eligible to receive a discretionary bonus, which is not guaranteed and may be based on both individual and company performance.
