About the role

About the Department 

The Cardiometabolic Marketing Team leads the US marketing efforts for Novo Nordisk’s robust cardiometabolic product portfolio, which includes world class therapies for the treatment of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, and other serious chronic diseases. As part of the team, you will contribute to the development and delivery of our portfolio vision, business strategies, and tactical plans that drive our business forward. You will help to drive the NNI portfolio and Brand strategies to ensure the products reach the people who need them most.

 

The Position

This position will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and implementation of the HCP Market Development non-personal promotional activities
  • Developing & ensuring the alignment of disease state HCP promotion, brand positioning and messaging
  • Leading the PRB (Promotion Review Board - MLR) Efficiency Projects, serving as the Obesity Strategic Enabler, to ensure appropriate prioritization, expedition and escalation of overall team projects
  • Participating on cross-functional project teams and interacts extensively with other functional areas within Novo Nordisk and with select global planning teams
  • Participating as integral part of the Extended Brand Team (EBT) for designated brand and provides key input into tactical planning process

 

Relationships

Reports to the Marketing Director, Obesity HCP Non-Personal Promotion. Works closely with Obesity Brand team members, Other NNI Brand teams, Market Access and Commercial Operations and Effectiveness. Works in close collaboration with other departments such as Field Sales, Managed Care, Trade and Government, HCP Engagement, HCP Market Development/Education, Medical, Regulatory and Legal personnel, as well as participating on global teams for designated product. External relationships include professional services providers such as creative & media agencies, market research and media vendors, consultants, etc.

 

Essential Functions

  • Brand Leadership/Planning:
    • Leads the development and implementation of the HCP Market Development non-personal promotional activities, responsible for developing & ensuring the alignment of disease state HCP promotion, brand positioning and messaging
    • Develops accurate short and long-term plans, forecasting and business analysis for area of responsibility. Ensures timely execution and follow-up, meets deadlines, prioritizes projects and timelines, anticipates potential roadblocks and issues to avoid crisis management
    • Develops and executes the overall brand plan for designated projects
    • Develops and presents compelling plans for management endorsement
    • Actively participates in the development of annual brand tactical plan for assigned area of responsibility, utilizing input of extended brand teams, including collaboration with relevant areas to ensure appropriate market analysis & market research activities
    • Leads the PRB (Promotion Review Board - MLR) Efficiency Projects, serving as the Obesity Strategic Enabler, to ensure appropriate prioritization, expedition and escalation of overall team projects
    • Manages all aspects of the marketing mix, including promotion, product launches and vendor partnerships
    • Champions the Triple Bottom Line in development of brand strategy and tactical initiatives
    • Works closely with Field Sales to ensure marketing programs developed strongly support their direct and indirect needs with customers and drive appropriate ROI
    • Works effectively with global colleagues to define campaign development, competitive defense and strategic product evolution and with key support functions to ensure alignment with brand objectives and goals
  • Market & Program Analyses / Product Investment:
    • Manages brand positioning messages and key objectives and any necessary sales force communication
    • Ensures measurement of ROI of all implemented programs
    • Participates in the development of market research plans
    • Works closely with Marketing Effectiveness to ensure tracking of implemented programs are reported in a timely manner to all stakeholders
    • Effectively addresses competitive obstacles for the brand to ensure brand success
    • Understands the definition of the market and develops accurate sales projections/forecasts for designated product
    • Review performance dashboards and identify opportunities for marketing / sales partnership in local markets
    • Work in collaboration with Insight & Analytics colleagues to develop short & long term forecast inputs and understand drivers for sales performance and develop & deploy resources as needed
    • Accountable to manage the brand/portfolio budget process - makes sound decisions
