Senior DevOps Engineer

The Role:

We’re looking for a developer who is interested in deployment and network operations or sysadmin interested in testing and deploying next-generation blockchain technologies that are accessible to users and businesses around the world.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent practical experience
• 5 years of practical experience
• Experience working with three or more from the following
• Linux/Unix environment (e.g. Debian, Ubuntu, Alpine)
• Version control tools like GIT, GitHub, Subversion (SVN)
• GitFlow
• Creating customized Dockerfiles following Docker best practices
• Automated build pipelines utilizing Docker Hub
• Create/manage microservice architectures utilizing Docker Compose
• Experience with building and packaging software written in Java, NodeJS, C++ for multiple platforms (Linux, MacOS, Windows, Android, iOS) and debugging common build issues
• Experience with building and packaging software written in Java, NodeJS, C++ for multiple platforms (Linux, MacOS, Windows, Android, iOS) and debugging common build issues
• Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
• You are passionate about the promise of blockchain technology 
• You aren’t afraid of working in a fast paced environment, understanding when to ask for help or when to pull up your sleeves to get stuff done

Nice to Haves:

• Master’s, PhD degree or experience in engineering, computer science or other technical related field and/or 8 years of experience architecting highly-complex cross-functional software projects from inception to delivery.
• Track record of individual technical achievement.
• Familiarity with Btrfs snapshots, send/receive
• Experience with JIRA and Confluence
• Familiarity with Ansible as orchestration/configuration management tool
• Experience as Build and Release Engineer with DevOps Methodologies as primary focus on CI (Continuous Integration), CD (Continuous Delivery), Pipeline, Build and Deploy automation
• Knowledge of blockchain systems 
• Experience with various CI Tools like Travis-CI, Jenkins
• Automated build and deployment using Jenkins in Docker, dockerized build workers
• Galera Cluster for MySQL
• Experience of building/retrofitting effective instrumentation (monitoring/metrics) for existing applications is advantageous

 

In compliance with New York City's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position should the applicant be based in NYC is USD $140,000.00 to USD $175,000.00. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position should it be based in NYC. Our salary ranges are determined by numerous factors, including, but not limited to, role, level, experience, and location.
