Medical Assistant

Cottage Medical Group seeks a Medical Assistant Back Office for their CMG Pediatric Multispecialty Clinic responsible for assisting the physician and patients in the day-to-day clinical functions necessary to aid conducting a patient visit.

QUALIFICATIONS:

All job qualifications listed indicate the minimum level necessary to perform this job proficiently. 

Education:

• Minimum: Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of equivalent work experience.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:

• Minimum: American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Preferred: California State Certified Medical Assistant.

• Medical assistant duties including, but not limited to, point of care testing, removal of bandages and dressings, performance of EKGs and other clinical duties as needed in the clinic setting (50%)
• Clearly documents actions in a timely manner (5%)
• Assists physician in exams as needed (5%)
• Liaison (patient to doctor to patient) on call-ins. (5%)
• Cleans and set up exam room. Cleans and sterilizes equipment. (15%)
• Receives and records lab, x-ray, etc. results over phone, relay to patients when appropriate. (10%)
• Clerical duties including, but not limited to scheduling, obtaining prior authorizations, facilitating referrals, filing, answering phones, processing paperwork, and other general tasks needed to maintain efficient clinic operations and patient flow (10%)

LEVEL OF EDUCATION

Minimum:

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program or 2 years of equivalent work experience.
