Principal Associate, Project Management - Strategic Project Team

As a Principal Project Manager on the Strategic Project Team, you will be working on some of the most important initiatives across Card. General Responsibilities:

• Work on medium to large-scale complex, cross-work stream and platform projects that have a direct impact on the company

• Drive cross projects based on defined priorities; ensure scope of deliverables, timelines and governance materials are met; identify risks and issues and mitigate or escalate as needed; manage complex up and downstream project impacts

• Plan, document, manage and execute project plans to ensure delivery. This activity includes management through design, planning, testing, implementation, and transfer to business as usual.

• Leverage problem solving skills to ensure project plans deliver on intent and maintain key project documentation

• Partner with project customers to provide strategic and tactical thought partnership to effectively drive project delivery

• Forge relationships with Product, Tech, Business Analyst, Process, and other key stakeholders  to ensure delivery of commitments and alignment through launch

• Lead and manage meetings; document progress and report to stakeholders on project status

• Identify ways to improve and streamline process and collaboration across work streams
   

The person will:

• Exhibit a proven track record of project management, bringing the ability to quickly put structure in place to manage the work

• Demonstrate outstanding communication and partnership skills which are essential for interacting and communicating with key stakeholders across all levels to manage, inform, and influence outcomes

• Demonstrate organizational agility to adapt to changing demands

• Display strong consulting and collaboration skills

Basic Qualifications:

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent certification

• At least 3 years of experience supporting, partnering or interacting with internal business clients 

• At least 3 years of Project Management, Process Management or Relationship Management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree or Military experience

• 4+ years of experience in Project Management, Process Management or Relationship Management

• 3+ years of experience working with Product and Technology teams 

• 5+ years of experience leading projects through the full lifecycle

• PMP, Lean, Agile or Six Sigma certification

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Strong problem solving and influencing skills

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.
