We are seeking an experienced and visionary Director of Human Resources to lead and strengthen our HR department during a time of growth and innovation.
Position Summary:
The Director of Human Resources will oversee all aspects of human resources, including recruitment, retention, employee relations, compliance, benefits administration, training, and organizational development. This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong operational mindset and a passion for people and purpose. The ideal candidate will be an approachable leader and a proactive problem-solver with a deep understanding of HR best practices in healthcare and/or social services environments.
Key Responsibilities:

Develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goals and values

Lead and mentor the HR team to deliver exceptional support across all departments

Oversee full-cycle recruitment and retention efforts, including workforce planning

Ensure legal and regulatory compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws

Manage employee relations issues with a focus on fairness, transparency, and conflict resolution

Administer compensation, benefits, and performance management programs

Lead training and development initiatives that support staff growth and leadership development

Partner with executive leadership on culture-building and staff engagement

Maintain and improve HR systems, records, and data analytics to drive decision-making

Lead internal audits and readiness for external surveys or accreditation reviews
Qualifications
-
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s preferred)

SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification preferred

Minimum 7 years of progressive HR experience, including 3+ years in a leadership role

Experience in healthcare and/or human services strongly preferred

Deep knowledge of employment law, HR compliance, and best practices

Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills

Ability to manage complex, confidential situations with discretion and professionalism

Proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
