Who will you be working with?

The Senior Site Manager is a pinnacle leadership position within the Freight Services Division. In this role, you’ll lead a team of employees operating in a 24x7 environment to accomplish all goals and objectives for the assigned customer location. Additionally, you’ll manage major and complex assignments with long-term business implications as they relate to locomotive service contracts, manage complex technical issues, and contribute to the overall customer account strategy.

As the Senior On Site Leader at a critical customer location, your leadership will largely determine the success of the team as a whole. You will make a major impact by building, growing, and leading a team of Wabtec technical and material experts towards providing world class service to our customer will be the main focal points or your efforts.

What do we want to know about you?

  • Strong leadership presence, ability, and preferably prior experience
  • Undergraduate degree (preferably in a technical discipline) from an accredited university/college
    • OR an associate degree in a technical discipline + 2 years of relevant professional work experience in lieu of the undergraduate degree
    • OR high school graduate/GED + 4 years relevant professional work experience in lieu of the undergraduate degree
  • An additional 5+ years shop operations or engineering experience.
  • Wabtec Level 2 Certification highly preferred (Level 1 required)
  • Experience, willingness, and ability to work in shop environment and to work various shifts on various days as required, including having a flexible work schedule to perform auditing and training on various shifts.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as required for training, auditing, and supplier visits
  • Strong proficiency in MS office applications
  • Ability to gather, comprehend, and analyze large sets of data and present findings and conclusions based on the analysis
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrated interpersonal, leadership, and influencing skills
  • Demonstrated ability to leadership experience (both front line leadership of others and coordination projects)
  • Demonstrated successful leadership experience in a fast-paced environment
  • The ability to maintain reliable and predictable attendance
  • A high level of dependability, a great attitude, and an ability to work well with a team towards achieving a common goal

What will your typical day look like?

  • Complete site management and oversight at a Wabtec Freight Services field location
  • Hire, coach, train, and mentor site technical and materials team to promote internal development, capabilities, and cohesion
  • Develop and implement a strategic business plan to respond to customer goals, for the full array of Wabtec’s services and products
  • Develop site strategies and drive the successful delivery of all the work at the locations supported utilizing Six Sigma Methodology and processes
  • Drive Six Sigma quality strategy and integrate Wabtec into the locomotive customer service site - driving success for both customer initiatives
  • Cultivate the customer relationships to enhance customer metrics
  • Identify opportunities at the sites to meet / exceed operational goals and initiatives
  • Be responsible for orders, sales, product delivery, collections, functional budgets, contract administration, and overall customer satisfaction for all sites
  • Provide overall leadership in all areas of account activity with emphasis on identifying and developing account growth opportunities
  • Be responsible for the execution of the project in terms of main contractual obligations including timely delivery, quality, compliance with contract scope, and expected profitability of the project itself
  • All other tasks, projects, and objectives as required
