Class 1 Food Delivery Driver

Reporting To: Operations Manager
Compensation: $85,000 - $90,000 / year
Description
The Class 1 Delivery Driver is responsible for transporting product to our customer’s locations safely and on time. Location of deliveries are primarily in Northern Manitoba, Northern Saskatchewan, and Ontario.Key Responsibilities
- Check Vehicles to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment are in good working order.
- Handle company equipment properly; follow written driver safety rules, and compliance with DOT regulations.
- Maintain vehicles cleanliness.
- Report vehicle defects, accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles.
- Check conditions of truck/trailer after contents have been unloaded to ensure that there has been no damage.
- Perform basic vehicle maintenance tasks, such as adding oils, fuel, or radiator fluid.
- Performs emergency roadside repairs, such as changing tires or installing light bulbs, tire chains, or spark plugs.
- Check all load-related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate.
- Ability to complete assigned work in allotted time.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to resolve service issues.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, company policy, and delivery paperwork.
- Obtain customers signature on invoice as proof of delivery.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
- 5 years of verifiable class 1 experience is required ( Class 1 Highway Driver)
- 2 years of verifiable 5 ton ; Class 5 driver license are required ( 5 Ton Delivery Driver)
- Clean commercial driver's abstract and criminal record search
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, and hand bomb products into customer stores.
- Have a professional attitude and appearance.
- Good Time Management Skills
- High energy, motivated person with excellent customer service skills
- Strong work ethic and positive team attitude
