THIS IS NOT A TELEWORK POSITION. CANDIDATE WILL BE REQUIRED TO WORK IN THE OFFICE.

This advertisement will be used to hire and fill Other Personal Services (OPS) positions.
This is a full-time position working 40 hours per week.
Business hours are 8:00 am - 5:00 pm EST, Monday - Friday.
Salary: $16.23 per hour.
Current employees will be compensated in accordance with the DCF salary policy.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- A High School diploma, or its equivalent, and
- Two (2) years of clerical or public contact experience.
- College education from an accredited institution or vocational/technical training can substitute at the rate of 30 semester, 45 quarter or 720 classroom hours for each year of the required experience.
Preference given to applicants:
- Bi-lingual and able to speak, read and write in Creole/English or Spanish/English languages.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Duties of the Interviewing Clerk include conducting phone interviews and explaining eligibility with applicants and recipients for public assistance programs, determining eligibility for expedited food stamp services, entering client data into database based on intake of caller information, maintaining necessary files and records, and completing general clerical duties to include using computer to input data for clients who are applying for public assistance benefits, using photocopy machine, scanner and other office machines.

- Knowledge and application of the policies, procedures, laws, and programs governing the agency.
- Ability to speak clearly and correctly, and to communicate with others to obtain and verify information concerning eligibility.
