Job Description

Position Highlights

• Manages internal and external loss monitoring and reporting processes for WCIB
• Collection of internal loss data, review of data for accuracy and completeness, facilitation of root cause analysis, as applicable, and coordination of monthly certification
• In addition to oversight of WCIB's adherence to the Internal Operational Loss Data Policy, the individual will be assigned other projects and responsibilities related to the RCSA and/or BLCE Policy/Programs on an ad-hoc basis, which can involve risk and control gap identification and mitigation.
• May influence policies and procedures to maximize profit potential and minimize regulatory exposure
• Accountable for an effective partnership within the first line of defense and with second and 3rd line partners.

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
• Typically more than eight years of applicable experience

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Advanced knowledge of applicable laws, regulations, financial services, and regulatory trends that impact their assigned line of business
• Advanced understanding of the business line’s operations, products/services, systems, and associated risks/controls
• Thorough knowledge of Risk/Compliance/Audit competencies
• Strong leadership and management skills of processes, projects and people
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills
• Proficient computer skills, especially Microsoft Office applications
• Applicable professional certifications

Hybrid/flexible schedule

 

The role offers a hybrid/flexible schedule, which means there's an in-office expectation of 3 or more days per week and the flexibility to work outside the office location for the other days.
