Vice President of Software Development

CTP is a privately held small business based in Herndon, VA. We provide program management services for government and private clients and deliver technical assistance programs in over 80 countries around the world. CTP provides specific solutions or full lifecycle support, including course and curriculum design, expert instruction, logistics support, monitoring & evaluations, knowledge management, strategic planning, program management, and staffing services.

Responsibilities

Position Summary: CTP, Inc is seeking a Vice President of Software Development to lead the strategy, execution, and delivery of software engineering initiatives for specific projects. This role is responsible for development standards, architecture direction, engineering leadership, and delivery pipelines while ensuring alignment with organizational objectives and mission-critical systems.

 

Travel to the Caribbean region will likely be required for this role.

 

Primary Responsibilities

 

• Lead software development strategy and engineering execution• Establish development standards, architecture guidelines, and coding practices• Manage multiple engineering teams and development managers• Oversee software delivery pipelines and release management• Ensure development aligns with enterprise architecture and security requirements• Drive innovation and continuous improvement across engineering teams• Coordinate with operations, security, and platform teams• Manage development schedules, staffing, and resource planning

 

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

 

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field• 15+ years of software development experience• 8+ years of leadership experience managing development teams• Experience delivering enterprise-scale software platforms• Experience with cloud-based applications and platforms• Strong leadership and organizational skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

• Experience with AWS cloud platforms• Experience with enterprise workflow or platform systems• Agile or Scrum leadership experience• Master’s degree in related field

 

Location________________________________________

Hybrid but prefer candidate be based in Washington, DC.  Remote work also possible. Travel to Caribbean region may be required.

Compensation________________________________________

Salary range is based upon experience, but this is a senior level position.
