Idaho Power — located in vibrant Boise, Idaho — is looking for a Program Specialist or Senior Program Specialist to join our Energy Efficiency team. It’s an exciting time to work for Idaho Power. While this position is based at Idaho Power’s downtown Boise location, we offer both flexible schedules and the opportunity to work up to 40% remote.

What does a Program Specialist or Senior Program Specialist do for us?

They manage multiple and/or creates energy efficiency, and/or demand response programs or other offerings for commercial and industrial customers. The role includes program design, process development and improvement, system integration, marketing and communications, training and education, contract management, daily operations, payment processing, and reporting of results. A Senior Program Specialist also acts as the subject matter expert with comprehensive, specific, and progressive knowledge related to the program or area of discipline.

A COMPETITIVE CANDIDATE WILL HAVE

Knowledge of:

  • Common software programs such as Internet Explorer, Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Energy efficiency and Demand Response products and customer offerings and utility company operations

A Senior Program Specialist will also have knowledge of

  • Regulatory and policy impacts to energy efficiency and demand response programs

  • Data analysis and reporting, including the ability to present program information effectively to internal and external audiences

Ability to:

  • Manage multiple responsibilities and programs
  • Work effectively in a team environment and with a diverse group of people

  • Manage third-party contracts

Preferred:

  • Comprehend technical aspects of mechanical and electrical systems as it relates to energy efficiency or demand response
  • Work both independently and on project teams
  • Develop alternatives and evaluate their value and potential for meeting company needs
  • Analyze large and/or complex datasets and databases
  • Generate continuous program improvements and enhancements
  • Prepare comprehensive written and oral reports of problems, alternatives and recommendations


MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Program Specialist

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, marketing, communications or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred:

  • Master's degree in a related field

Experience:

  • 3 years of experience in project or program management, including 2 years of experience in any of the following related fields: utility, customer service, science, engineering, or marketing

Preferred:

  • 3 years of work experience in utility industry, with a customer-related focus

Licenses & Certifications:

  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record based on driving requirements for the position

Senior Program Specialist

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business, science, engineering, marketing, communications or related field or equivalent combination of education
