Onsite: This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Concord, NC on a full-time basis.
The Role
We are seeking a Senior Mechatronics Engineer to join the Aero Innovation team within the Motorsports Aerodynamic Department. Your primary responsibility will be to develop mechatronics systems that enhance the productivity and capabilities of our aerodynamics development processes for both motorsport and high-performance production vehicles. As a member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will be at the forefront of designing, developing, and optimizing solutions to tackle a variety of challenging technical and engineering obstacles. Your role is crucial and will significantly contribute to our competitiveness.

What You’ll Do
Execute the design, development, and integration of complex mechatronic systems to be used for automotive and aerodynamic testing applications.
Develop detailed system architectures and specifications that meet or exceed product requirements.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to create innovative solutions, including mechanical, electrical, and software engineers.
Liaise with external suppliers, evaluate and select appropriate components and technologies for system designs.
Conduct system-level testing, analysis, and debugging to ensure the functionality, reliability, and performance of the systems you develop.
Oversee the delivery of both prototype and production solutions, including mechanical design, PCB layout, firmware/software integration, and testing.
Support your solutions after deployment.
Prepare and present detailed technical reports, specifications, and presentations to stakeholders.

What You’ll Need (Required Qualifications)
Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in mechatronics engineering or a related field, with a proven track record of developing successful solutions.
Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and software integration, and experience with multidisciplinary system design.
Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., Siemens NX, CATIA) for mechanical design.
Experience with embedded systems, microcontrollers, and programming languages (C, C++, Python, etc.).
Hands-on experience with sensors, actuators, control systems, and power electronics.
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, constantly evolving environment, with a talent for organization, collaboration, and communication.

What Will Give You A Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications)
Master’s degree in Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
Experience with automotive, motorsports and/or aerodynamics testing
Familiarity with system simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink).
Expert skills in CAD and mechanical design
Detailed knowledge of control systems and theory
