We are looking for an entry level Electrical Engineer to complement our fast growing Water teams in our Columbus office. This engineer will work directly with in-house architects, civil, environmental, and structural engineers to produce designs for commercial, industrial, and institutional projects across the United States.

What You'll Do:

Reporting to our Process and Controls Technical Service Manager, you will work with many different ms team members within the company.  The primary focus of the role will be assisting design production working with a team of drafters and engineers. The job requires the individual to take responsibility of the technical content of various building and treatment facility projects with assistance from the Technical Service Manager. The role will include the electrical design of Water and Wastewater Treatment systems including pumps, blowers, conveyors, SCADA systems, automation and controls, and other electrical aspects related to the water business unit.

 

Specific responsibilities include:

• Plan production for commercial and environmental facilities within multiple industries utilizing AutoCAD and Revit software.
• Preliminary calculations to support design decisions within low voltage power distribution, medium voltage power distribution, standby power, motors, pumps, controls, lighting, and fire alarm systems.
• Coordination of design elements with other in-house disciplines, including architecture, structures, site civil, environmental, and landscape design.
• Candidates should have a desire to learn all aspects of Electrical engineering, if not already exposed to all of the elements above.
• Define equipment, layout, and protection requirements for new and retrofit distribution stations in accordance with all applicable industry codes and standards.
• Must be able to interpret customer requirements and develop appropriate distribution station plans and specifications.

 

What You'll Bring:

• BS in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited college or university preferred, or equivalent working experience.
• Engineer in Training (EIT) license required.
• Working knowledge of low voltage power distribution, lighting, and controls including motors, pumps, blowers, etc.
• Medium voltage design not required, but preferred.
• Familiarity with ICC, NEC, NFPA building codes, LEED building standards.
• Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit design software.
• Proficient with MS office suite: Word, Excel, Outlook.
