Purpose of Role: The SHE Specialist is primarily responsible for the day-to-day Occupational Health portion of SHE but also has Safety and Environmental expectations at the Newton, MS facility. Under the supervision of the SHE Manager, the SHE Specialist works closely with a multitude of people groups (Champions, Leaders, Operators, etc.) in order to support the continued development of Newton’s SHE controls and Zero Harm Culture.

Key Responsibilities:
SHE Job Duties:
- Ensure Weir Group’s SHE Charter is fully respected via full implementation of internal protocols and procedures across the site.
- Provide support for all SHE aspects of the site including documentation, monitoring and measurement and reporting to authorities.
- Support SHE legislation tracking and compliance.
- Assist in implementation of SHE related controls and corrective actions.
- Work with a variety of teams to perform hazard identification, risk assessment, and environmental aspect analysis.
- Perform planned and unplanned SHE inspections.
- Assist (lead, mentor, participate, etc.) in incident investigations and reporting.
- Support SHE training and documentation.
- Track and report SHE activities and metrics.
Medic Job Duties:
- Provide direct and indirect patient care based on established protocols under the direction of company medical director.
- Maintain all medical equipment with attention to functionality and cleanliness.
- Maintain accurate inventory of all medical supplies to include equipment and medications.
- Maintain proper security of all equipment within accordance of established protocols and procedures.
- Maintain a clean and orderly clinic at all times.
- Properly secure and dispose of bio-hazard waste within accordance to established procedures.
- All correspondences must be conducted with discretion and in compliance with the Company’s Code of Conduct.
- Must maintain the highest levels of confidentiality and discretion regarding employee medical records and maintain HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Conduct drug and alcohol testing and new hire physicals and screens as needed.
- Conduct respiratory fit testing as requested.
- Support the Occupational Health function of the site, including involvement in the completion of medical qualification for respiratory protection use, audiometric testing and any other health examination that is required, and within the scope of licensure for occupational health.

Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Working knowledge of MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Must be willing and able to work a flexible schedule, as needed.
- Must be permanently authorized to work in the United States.
- Have and maintain a current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) card.
- Have and maintain a current BLS (Basic Life Saving) card.
- Have and maintain a current National Registry Card or Professional License.
- Have and maintain First Aid, CPR, AED teaching credentials and teach classes as requested.
- Minimum of 2 years EMS or Emergency Room Experience.
- Working Environment: 70% Office, 30% Foundry Environment.
