Morley Moss, Inc. is currently looking for Jr. Estimators to work on-site at their Sunnyvale, TX location under the PreConstruction and Estimating department. Prior Estimating experience in Electrical Construction or similar field is preferred.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Include the following. Other duties will likely be assigned.

Must be able to work on a variety of project types, including but not limited to; new construction, remodel, service/continued service and Low Voltage, which may include Commercial, Industrial, Data Center, Hospital/Medical Center, and/or Federal contracts.

Collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products.

Consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues.

Prepare estimates used by management for purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work.

Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
- Review contract and bid documents; review and understand scope for project turnover

Attend pre-bid and scope clarification meetings

Quantitative take-off and computer entry

Prepare scope letters and proposals

Maintain relationships with customers, General Contractors, vendors and subcontractors
- Ensure documents are centrally saved in the company’s drive within the confidential estimating folder(s)

Assist project managers with takeoffs and pricing changes in work
- Comply with all Company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.

Prepare cost estimates based on full takeoff of all required materials and labor using estimating software (ACCUBID and Livecount).

Request quotations from suppliers to gather material and equipment costs.

Willingness and desire to actively participate in Value Engineering sessions with the project team and design team.

Review quotes obtained from subcontractors for accurate scope of work as per plans and specs.

Maintain files of working documents as back-up for estimate figures, including information on pricing from suppliers obtained through direct contact, price lists, software uploads, etc.

May review design options and recommend the best solution based on cost, engineering quality, and/or availability of materials

Perform additional assignments as required by the needs of the company or as directed by executives.
QUALIFICATIONS

PREFERRED EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- 2-3 years related experience in the electrical construction industry.
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Knowledge of the construction industry and contract documentation.
- Working knowledge of federal, state, and city regulations and guidelines.
COMPUTER SKILLS
- Must demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, (i.e. Outlook, Word and Excel)
- Familiarity with Accubid, and other
