Job Description
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Software Engineer-Frontend in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Essential Responsibilities:
Job Duties: The Software Engineer-Frontend is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining single-page applications (SPAs) with a focus on scalability, accessibility, and performance. Implementing front-end components and reusable patterns aligned with organizational design systems. Writing, refactoring, and optimizing business logic with comprehensive unit and integration tests. Performing analysis on failures. Proposing design changes. Encouraging operational improvements. Monitoring and remediating vulnerabilities in third-party libraries, collaborating with security teams to triage CVEs. Contributing to accessibility compliance (WCAG), performance tuning, and UI/UX improvements. Engaging with backend systems regarding Rest API integrations and data flows. Participating in peer code reviews to ensure quality, maintainability, and adherence to standards. Ensuring all aspects of product development follow compliance and security best practices. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Multiple Positions.
Basic Qualifications:
Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Cyber Security, plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related.
Required Skills/Experience:
Requires at least a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, or Cyber Security, plus 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience as a Software Engineer, Software Developer, or related. Must possess 5 years of experience with each of the following: designing, developing, and maintaining web applications using JavaScript; implementing and optimizing front-end components using JavaScript, React, HTML, and CSS; conducting unit and integration tests using React; developing and maintaining microservice-based APIs using Java and Spring Framework; working on backend logic and integration workflows working with Agile and Scrum methodologies for continuous integration and continuous delivery; conducting code reviews using GitHub, Jira, and Confluence workflows to ensure maintainability, performance and adherence to secure coding and accessibility standards; contributing to the CI/CD practices through Git and Maven-based build pipelines, streamlining deployment validation and integration testing across development environments; and, utilizing all of the following: Java, REST API’s, and Jenkins. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location.
