University Enterprises Corporation at CSUSB ("UEC") supports the university's educational mission by providing quality services that complement the instructional program. The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We’re responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.

Position Summary

Temporary, Exempt, Full Time, Benefitted position through 6/30/2025 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance). 

Salary: $7,875.00-$9,625.00 per month.

Location: CSRI San Bernardino.

Work Schedule

40 hours per week. Generally, Monday through Friday, 8:45 am to 5:15 pm. Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Typical Activities

Under minimal supervision of the Director of Administration, the Associate Director of Administration will work independently to:

Fiscal Operations
  • Assist the Director of Administration in budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.
  • Monitor expenditures and ensure alignment with grant requirements and budgetary constraints.
  • Coordinate with fiscal staff to streamline accounting processes, payroll, and accounts management.
  • Conduct regular audits to ensure financial accuracy and compliance with organizational policies.
Information Technology Management
  • Oversee the development, implementation, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with IT staff and vendors to ensure system security, data protection, and smooth operations.
  • Evaluate technology needs and recommend upgrades or new systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Manage IT budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships.
Building and Facility Management
  • Supervise building operations, ensuring facilities are safe, well-maintained, and compliant with local regulations.
  • Develop and implement building maintenance schedules and emergency response protocols.
  • Manage vendor contracts related to building services, including maintenance, security, and utilities.
  • Oversee office space allocation and planning to support organizational growth.
Leadership and Team Collaboration
  • Supervise administrative staff and provide leadership to ensure high performance and accountability.
  • Work closely with department heads to align administrative functions with programmatic needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between administrative functions and executive leadership.
  • Serve as liaison between CSRI, UEC, DRP and CDCR.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on administrative operations to senior leadership.
Compliance and Risk Management
  • Ensure compliance with all IT, facility, and financial regulations, including state, federal, and grant requirements.
  • Lead and coordinate CSRI’s efforts to maintain HIPAA compliance
  • Contract compliance between UEC, DRP, and CDCR
  • Develop and enforce policies and procedures related to administrative operations.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with IT systems, building operations, and fiscal management.
Human Resources Liaison
  • Support HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, training, and employee relations.
  • Serve as a resource for staff inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
  • Collaborate with HR to implement and enforce organizational policies and ensure compliance with labor laws.

Travel required; travel to organizational facilities and vendors.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Education & Experience:
    • Master of Arts degree (or its equivalent) and five years of experience in administrative management, including facilities and fiscal operations. (Additional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.) OR
