Description

ROLE PURPOSE The Production Support Engineer works closely with manufacturing teams to ensure production schedules and quality goals are consistently achieved. This role leads and supports the implementation of corrective actions, fool-proofing measures, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance manufacturing efficiency, product reliability, and customer satisfaction. The engineer serves as a key technical resource on the production floor, troubleshooting issues, supporting safe work practices, and driving process improvements that align with operational and regulatory standards. 

Key Responsibilities

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES 
  • Maintain, gather, and report with production  
  • Ensure that ergonomic and safety issues for employees are addressed in tools and methods. 
  • Provide frontline support for production as required to troubleshoot and analyse components or systems. 
  • Implement and regulate production support tools and all required test equipment. 
  • Analize in-house failures in production to determine and/or implement corrective action. 
  • Investigate production related installation failures to determine and implement of corrective action. 
  • Communicate with internal stakeholders as required to analyse and resolve issue and/or implement corrective action. 
  • Advise and support continuous improvement initiatives such as housekeeping principles to revise tooling, line layout, and procedures. 
  • Understand ISO, UL and OSHA requirements: be able to effectively audit processes, work with UL inspectors to implement and monitor safe work processes 
  • Support quality training initiatives. 

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS  Education Level: 
  • Associates degree or equivalent from a two-year college or university preferred. 
 Qualifications:  
  • Minimum one year of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.   
  • MS Office or similar computer software skills are required.    
 REQUIRED SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES  
  • Ability to troubleshoot electro-mechanical components, and processes. 
  • Ability to effectively present information to leadership, employees of the company, 3rd parties, and suppliers. 
  • Work with basic math and engineering concepts 
  • Apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations 
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions 
  • Interpret technical instructions and/or diagrams 
  • Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations.   
  • Ability to utilize hand and power tools. 
  • Ability to talk, hear, close vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus required. 
  • Excellent follow up and time management skills. 
  • Computer skills and knowledge. 
  • May need to travel abroad to transfer product lines, obtain training, inspect / verify suppliers or visit other Glory facilities for projects.
