About the Team
The mission of the Content Services team is to enable organizations to efficiently interact with their potential buyers, by providing the capabilities for efficiently authoring and managing reusable content (templates and snippets), experimenting with interaction patterns, and measuring key engagement metrics.The team owns the platform for creating, managing and governing content, including email template collection and snippets across many Outreach areas.It’s a high-volume distributed system, built on cutting edge technologies with data at its center. Outreach is known for being a category creator and leader in sales engagement. Crucial role in achieving and maintaining this is having industry leading Content platform.
The Role
We are looking for a Software Engineering Manager to help establish and grow a new backend team, help define all the internal processes and shape the team culture and daily rituals.The Content team is at the heart of the engagement infrastructure and you will be closely collaborating with several other backend and front end teams.You will also have a real impact on the engineering platform, helping evolve our technology stack and build reusable components that help the other backend teams. You will have the opportunity to help build Outreach Prague and contribute to the Outreach brand success.
LocationWhile we are remote-friendly, we remain an "office-centric" company.

Your Daily Adventures Will Include

  • Help define and shape the vision, strategy and roadmap for the Content Services area
  • Work closely with the product management group, key partners and stakeholders from other engineering teams and the customer support and success team to define the backlog that maximizes the customer value
  • Manage, coach, and mentor a small team highly skilled engineers into a high performing and self organizing team
  • Build a team culture of customer obsession, growth, trust and got-your-back spirit
  • Define and own the core metrics to measure the adoption, usage, reliability and resiliency of the experiences the team is building and managing
  • Drive technical excellence for the team, running design reviews, participating in code reviews, and guiding the team to a high quality code base
  • Get into the details. You are able to understand and represent the team’s domain model, code and APIs in detail and contribute to architecture discussions, design and control flow of specific features, implementation choices, and security and reliability concerns
  • Collaborate closely with recruiting to define job requirements, interview candidates, and build the team

Our Vision of You

  • 3+ years of managing software engineering teams
  • 6+ years of software development experience on backend, large scale distributed systems
  • Strong problem solving, design, coding and debugging skills
  • Experience in developing complex services with observability and performance in mind
  • Previous experience guiding, mentoring, and growing a team with senior engineers
  • Demonstrated success owning and delivering on ambiguous problem statements from start to finish
  • Ability to bring clarity to problems and bring simplicity to solutions
  • Strong growth mindset and earned trust with team and cross functional partners
  • You understand which details are important and have the ability to prioritize incremental delivery
