Capability Unit 

Metrea Algorithmics (MAX) provides unique engineering services, cloud-based cyber operations infrastructure, advanced tactics, techniques and procedures training, and a full suite of wireless communications survey and reconnaissance sensors that enable real-time multi-domain awareness while enhancing command and control.  

Position Summary 

Reporting to the SHADOWLAB Engineering Lead, Electromagnetics and Cyber Group (EMCG), and supporting Metrea’s overall engineering efforts, the Software Engineering Intern will join our busy team specializing in state-of-the-art military communications and signals intelligence products. All our teams operate in a small agile environment which allows our engineering personnel to work independently on a wide variety of systems and products. Our mix of product development and R&D also provides our engineering staff with a constant flow of new and interesting projects.

Role and Responsibilities 

• Work closely with and learn from our Senior Principal Software Engineer       
• Perform various code maintenance and clean up tasks
• Support code testing and documentation       
• Participate in system architecture reviews and code reviews
• Interface with other engineering disciplines on the team to gather key requirements and objectives for various software development tasks

Skills and Experience 

• Knowledge of C/C++, Python, or JavaScript  
• Knowledge of Version Control Software (VCS), i.e. Git
• Familiarity with Visual Studio Code
• Familiarity with web application development

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
 This is a part-time position with typical working hours Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Hours and work shifts may change in accordance with department and business needs. Exempt Employees must have the ability to be on-call and available, as business needs require. The position can expect less than 40 hours a week.

No travel is expected for this role.

Huntsville, AL Office.
