Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) has an exciting opportunity for a Quality Engineer (Mid-Level or Senior) to join our team located in Saint Charles, MO.
This position will act as an Early Quality Involvement Quality Engineer and is responsible for Early Quality Involvement on the Precision Engagement team. Duties will include:
- Enterprise Standard Gated Process (ESGP) quality support, including artifact creation, gaining quality leadership approval, and partnering with Supplier Quality
- First Article Inspection (FAI) review and planning
- Proposal development, BOE creation, and review of quality requirements
- Work Movement quality support and flow down
- Planning reviews and planning approvals
- Advanced Product Quality Planning preferred
Successful candidates will have Early Quality involvement experience, including ESGP, BOE population, Quality Requirement reviews, supplier clause flow down, and work movement experience.
Position Responsibilities:
Level 3:
- Represents Quality function on team activities to integrate contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Provides Quality interpretation of requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for small programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Conducts capability assessments and process validations to support supplier selection activities.
- Participates in various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Performs analysis, tests and process audits to ensure manufacturing and test readiness.
- Provides material review dispositions for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Recommends corrective actions to address non-conformances.
- Performs benchmarking and other forms of analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Works under general direction.
Level 4:
- Leads integration of contractual and Boeing Quality Management System requirements into all aspects of proposals and program processes and documentation.
- Provides interpretation of complex requirements.
- Develops quality metrics, design and production certification plans for large programs to ensure compliance with contractual, Company and regulatory requirements.
- Develops Quality criteria to support supplier selection activities.
- Leads various reviews to ensure quality attributes are incorporated into product designs.
- Develops and selects methods for analysis, testing and audit to ensure manufacturing and test readiness. Assists in development of new standards repairs for non-conformances.
- Analyzes non-conformance trends to evaluate effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Develops and implements corrective actions. Performs benchmarking and other forms of advanced analysis to ensure specified processes capability levels are achieved.
- Works under minimal direction.
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
- 3+ years of experience in Quality
- 1+ year of experience in a manufacturing or manufacturing support environment
- 1+ year of experience reading and understanding engineering drawings, blueprints, schematics, and specifications
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Level 4: 5 or more years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Experience with Enterprise Standard Gated Process (EGSP)
