Job Description

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

 

  • Operate industrial equipment (forklift, tugger, Drexel, electric pallet jacks, and banding equipment) to move material throughout the plant and the MFC (Material Flow Center). –
    • Deliver material to product lines on an hourly basis (or faster), uses systems to prepare and send final products to customers.
    • Scan all materials as required to record inventory movements in the system; verify inventory counts as required
  • Load and unload trucks using the established procedures in compliance with safety specifications. Load and unloads material onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand or using material handling equipment
  • Attach identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases or other containers.
  • Conduct inventory and component inspections and/or audit to specification, as required:
    • Perform and maintain accurate finished goods traceability
    • Identifies, counts, transfers, store components, and finished goods using current inventory and lot control systems.
  • Provide feedback on improvements (CIP) within the logistics organization with regards to safety, quality, delivery and cost.
  • Maintain visual management boards, databases, charts, logbooks, and other miscellaneous records
  • Interfaces with various carriers, suppliers, and customers as well as planning, quality, purchasing, and production associates.
  • Manages all product flow using SAP and other documentation as necessary.
  • Displays high level of associate involvement, teamwork, continuous improvement, and strong customer focus. Informs and works with appropriate associates to resolve any issue with equipment, components, or systems.
  • Follow plant safety and environmental policies, and keep work areas clean and orderly by maintaining good housekeeping and following 5S principles

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP

This position reports to First Line Manager.

INTERACTION

This position interacts with various carriers, suppliers, and customers as well as other internal departments.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have a High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must be at least 18 years or older
  • Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbal and written, with supervision and other personnel
  • Familiar with Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel)
  • Must be able to function in a noisy and fast paced environment
  • Demonstrates self-initiative
  • Demonstrates discipline regarding adherence to established standard work, policies, and procedures.
