Work with production and maintenance staff to coordinate timely, safe, and efficient repair and preventative maintenance of equipment and systems.
Demonstrate a full commitment to safety and environmental processes and programs, including labor relations and company policies.
Supervise and lead development of direct reports and union employees toward implementation of a self-directed and reliability-focused organization.
Ensure full utilization of work methods to drive continuous improvement of operational efficiency, cost improvements, and equipment reliability.
Work with appropriate operations, maintenance, engineering, and support staff to prioritize work and develop long-term capital and strategic-improvement plans.
Provide technical assistance to production and/or maintenance employees; ensure use of sound preventative maintenance procedures.
Monitor area maintenance budget, including compliance with financial controls.
Prepare reports, analyze data, and make recommendations for improving operations and solving maintenance-related problems.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Oversee business activities in your areas of responsibility; directly supervises salaried Assistant Superintendents and day Supervisors.
Develop your organization to ensure long and short term goals and objectives are met.
Transfer knowledge to salaried staff and prepare them for future advancement opportunities.
QualificationsSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering.
At least 5 years of experience in an industrial manufacturing environment.
Proficient at managing, scheduling, and training multi-functional teams in a union environment.
Demonstrated ability to achieve desired results and lead organization change while adhering to stated Company values.
Ability to balance multiple priorities to meet short and long-term objectives.
Outstanding communication skills, makes effective presentations, and can quickly build trust and respect.
Proficient in MS Office software (including MS Project) with a working knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems.
Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to think “outside the box”.
Highly organized and uses efficient work methods.
