Sr. Ruby Engineer

Wolf is the platform behind the next generation of staffing companies. We help firms launch their own talent marketplaces — complete with jobseeker apps, client portals, and internal recruiter tools — all white-labeled and powered by Wolf’s engine.

We’re looking for a Senior Ruby on Rails Engineer to join us in Austin and help build the backbone of modern flexible work. You’ll be working on everything from scheduling and payments to multi-tenant logic, API design, and internal tooling.

This role is perfect for someone who’s comfortable in a startup — fast-moving, pragmatic, product-minded — and excited to take ownership of real-world features that impact thousands of workers across the country.

What you’ll be building

• Core features across our multi-tenant Rails monolith — from worker onboarding to shift scheduling, credentialing, and pay
• Internal tools for staffing firms to manage jobs, talent, timesheets, clients, payments, and more
• JSON APIs consumed by our React and React Native apps
• Integrations with 3rd party services like Stripe, Typesense, Redis, and AWS
• Services that manage high-volume workflows (think: thousands of jobs, millions of applications, real-time scheduling changes)
• Features for recruiters, clients, and workers — all white-labeled per platform
• Cleaner, smarter abstractions as we grow

You’ll do well here if:

• You’ve got 5+ years of professional experience working in Ruby on Rails (we’re on Rails 7)
• You’ve worked with PostgreSQL, Redis, Sidekiq, RSpec, and you know your way around a multi-layered Rails app
• You write clean, maintainable code and care about design patterns, testing, and pragmatism
• You’ve built and maintained JSON APIs at scale
• You enjoy collaborating closely with product and design teams — and thinking through edge cases with them
• You’ve worked on multi-tenant apps or domain-driven architecture (or are eager to learn)
• You’re based in Austin (or relocating) and excited to be in-office with the team
