Job Description
The Future Talent Program features internships that last up to 12 weeks and will include one or more projects. These opportunities in our Support Function Division can provide you with great development and a chance to see if we are the right company for your long-term goals.
Our company’s Global Communications organization has an opportunity for a summer data & analytics communications intern. This individual will help measure, analyze, and optimize the performance of our internal and external communications with an opportunity to learn from Global Communications leaders at all levels. The internship role will combine data analysis, reporting, and hands-on work with the communications and editorial teams to improve audience reach and engagement that supports our company's purpose of using the power of leading-edge science to save and improve lives around the world.
This internship will be based in the Rahway, NJ, location. This individual will be expected to come to the Rahway, NJ, office 3 times a week.
Key responsibilities
Work with the analytics and communications teams to define metrics and KPIs for content, campaigns, reputation and employee engagement initiatives (e.g., open rates, click-through rates, social engagement, intranet page views).
Collect, clean and analyze data from multiple sources (email platforms, CMS/intranet analytics, social media, Google Analytics to help evaluate the performance of communications and content.
Support creation of regular reports (biweekly/monthly) that summarize performance trends and content impact for editorial and leadership stakeholders.
Perform ad-hoc performance analyses as needed.
Support measurement of employee engagement and reputation activities.
Assist with media monitoring and measurement.
Support the communications team with day-to-day tasks and special projects as needed.
Required Experience and Skills:
Candidates must be currently in their junior year or above pursuing a college degree preferably in a related field (e.g., Business, Data Analytics, Marketing/Communications) OR have a minimum of a high school diploma and have completed at least 1 internship, apprenticeship, co-op or equivalent professional role in a communications-related field
Candidates must be available to work full-time for the summer months beginning in May 2026 through August 2026
Candidates must have computer proficiency with Windows-based applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Experience with at least one analytics tool
SharePoint experience a plus

Analytical mindset: comfortable working with numbers, spotting trends, and drawing insightful conclusions
Team-oriented and collaborative; able to work effectively across cross-functional teams
Understands the basic principles of communications, public relations and social media, with strong proofreading, editing and grammar skills
Has strong project management and organizational skills
Demonstrates creativity in addressing communication challenges and problem solving
Possesses excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal skills
Is a strong team player with a collaborative spirit
Has a positive attitude and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Is curious and isn’t afraid to learn or ask questions
