Temporary Therapist (Part Time)

Therapist Position at Utah State University Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS, https://www.usu.edu/aggiewellness/caps/)

Utah State University CAPS is seeking a dedicated therapist to provide individual therapy for students enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine (https://vetmed.usu.edu/). As a part of our dynamic interdisciplinary mental health team, you'll contribute to a supportive and vibrant environment.

 

Position Details:

• Role: Part-time, non-benefited temporary position on the USU-Logan campus for Spring 2024.
• Responsibilities: Conduct approximately 15 clinical hours per week, delivering therapy to students from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the CAPS office.
• Schedule: Flexible scheduling based on your availability and clients' needs within CAPS business hours: 8 am-5 pm, Monday through Friday.
• Compensation: Minimum hourly pay of $60, with potential for higher compensation based on clinician license and experience.
• Supervision: Provision of clinical supervision for individuals holding a provisional license (e.g., CSW, ACMH).

Responsibilities

• Conduct intake and individual face-to-face and teletherapy psychotherapy.• Provide culturally sensitive and inclusive services to diverse students.• Prepare for sessions and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of clinical services in the electronic record system (Titanium).• Practice all responsibilities in accordance with ethical and professional standards and state laws.• Understand and comply with CAPS and university policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in a mental health discipline (e.g., Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy) from an accredited program.• Current clinical license or an ability to be licensed in the state of Utah (arrangement for supervision may be made for social work and counseling).• Experience providing therapy to college age adults.• Willingness and capacity to effectively use Zoom for telehealth.• Skills with basic computer programs (e.g., Word, Outlook)and an ability to learn our electronic record system (Titanium).• Effective oral and written communication skills.

The environment and physical requirements may change depending on the specific function of the work each department performs. Incumbents may be in both indoor and outdoor environments. Indoors, in an office space, event space, or public space are protected from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature changes. Incumbents may nearly continuously sit and often use repetitive hand motion (such as typing).

CAPS is part of USU's Division of Student Affairs. We have been accredited by the International Accreditation of Counseling Services (IACS) since 1994. Our staff is composed of professionals for psychology, social work, and marriage & family therapy. We have a doctoral internship that is fully accredited by the American Psychological Association and practicums in counseling psychology, social work, and marriage and family therapy. The center offers a range of services, including individual and group therapy, single-session therapy, assessment, crisis appointments, case management, and outreach presentations.
