CFA Institute is seeking a Senior Technical Accountant to join our Finance Division and support the application of U.S. GAAP across diverse and dynamic business areas. What You’ll Do

Technical Accounting Research & Support (50%)

• Research U.S. GAAP (including ASC 606, 842, 958, 810, 815) to inform accounting decisions

• Summarize key accounting issues and assess their relevance to business scenarios

• Assist in drafting technical memos and supporting documentation

• Stay informed on changes to accounting standards and help with impact assessments

• Collaborate across departments (tax, legal, FP&A, and business units) on new initiatives and transactions

Financial Reporting & Audit Preparation (30%)

• Prepare audit support files, financial disclosures, and analysis packages

• Coordinate with internal teams to produce technical accounting documents

• Assist with responding to auditor queries and information requests

Policy Implementation & Controls (20%)

• Support consistent application of internal accounting policies across the organization

• Document process walkthroughs and assess accounting-related control risks

• Ensure harmonized treatment of accounting matters across all functions

What You’ll Bring

Minimum Qualifications

• CPA license

• 5–10 years of experience, including technical accounting exposure in public or corporate accounting

• Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP standards such as revenue recognition, leases, and consolidations

• Strong research and analytical skills with the ability to interpret accounting standards

• Experience writing technical memos or accounting position papers

• Proficiency in Word, Excel, Outlook

Expected salary range: $85,000 - $95,000 annually

Other benefits include eligibility for annual incentives, 12% pension employer contribution, and competitive medical benefits.
