What you will be doing
Summary:
This role is responsible for supporting the planning, execution, and managing of multi-faceted projects related to risk management, mitigation and response, compliance, control assurance, and user awareness for all IT systems. Engineers I support, monitor, and maintain information security infrastructure to protect the company’s computer systems and networks from cyber-attacks, and help execute the information security program in compliance with policy and applicable regulations. They conduct security testing on simple to intermediate assets and support design, development, implementation and troubleshooting of various information system and cybersecurity software. They gather reports, metrics, and key performance indicators to measure and validate the effectiveness of existing security controls for team review. They analyze and report known and emerging threats to determine risks against asset creation, maintenance, and governance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Identify and track threat campaigns targeting the organization
Monitor the threat landscape to identify new TTPs used by threat actors
Analyze malware and threats to identify artifacts, behaviors and indicators
Perform research and collection across large datasets to support cybersecurity requests, guide investigations, and drive cybersecurity strategies
Support Cyber Defense and Engineering teams during incidents and other threat monitoring activities providing intelligence context, remediation recommendations and expertise
Conduct trending and correlation across threat intelligence data to establish patterns, identify proactive mitigations, and develop countermeasures
Develop, manage, optimize and continuously improve processes to enhance the overall cyber threat intelligence function
Maintain relationships with external partners such as the FBI, DHS, H-ISAC, and other healthcare organizations
Assist in training and mentoring the organization to improve awareness of cybersecurity threats and how to reduce the risk from those threats
What your background should look like
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or any other related discipline or equivalent related experience
0-2 years of directly-related or relevant experience, preferably in information security.
