TITLE of POSITION:         Substitute Security Guard - Hourly

 

DESCRIPTION of POSITION:

 

The Security Guard shall be directly responsible to the Director of Safety and Security and the Safety Supervision.  He/she shall protect students, employees and visitors in and around District 189 properties and maintain peace and order.  He/she shall also prevent visitors, intruders, trespassers, vandals and employees from committing acts against regulations or laws of District 189.

 

DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

 

 

1. Be directly responsible to the Director of Materials Management.
2. Act with firmness and sufficient energy when handling violators in the performance of duties.
3. Investigate vandalism or other matters requiring attention and make a detailed written report to the Director of Safety and Security immediately or the next day for appropriate action.
4. Attend in-service workshops set forth by the Board of Education or the Director of Safety and Security.
5. Perform such other duties as may be assigned by the Director of Safety and Security.

 

REQUIRMENTS:

 

High School Diploma / GED preferred

 

Experience in a similar position preferred
