Primary Objective:  In broad terms, briefly state the major purpose of primary objective of this position.

Operates size 550 front end loaders and conveyors for chip unloading area.

Major Function and Scope: Using brief narrative statements, describe each major function of responsibility explaining the scope of the function as appropriate.

Daily Operations

• Complete walk around inspections.
• Ensure chips are going to correct locations.
• Blow out loader thoroughly once per shift or as needed. 
• Notifies supervisor if something is wrong, or if loader needs to have maintenance done.
• Move chips as needed to a designated location. 
• Make sure there is a containment area made for waste water if tanks are being cleaned. 
• Maintain constant fuel level for the furnace, making sure mix of fuel is proper. 
• Visually monitor the quality of chips and notify supervisor if something is not correct.
• Operates loader and monitor that they are running correctly and efficiently. 
• Maintains constant levels in chip reclaim hoppers.
• Check all bunkers for fiber.  Make sure doors are closed all the way and chute flaps are closing properly.
  • Ensures chip unloading conveyors are operating properly.
  • Performs basic maintenance tasks.
  • Monitors the rotation of chips that are off loaded.
  • Inspect for any rock or metal contamination on yard.
• Performs other related duties as required.

 

Shutdown Operations

• Assist with refiner plate change.
• Assist with scrubber inspection and cleaning.
• Assist with all bag house bag changes.
• Assist with all periodic cleaning during and after the shutdown.

Requires 1 year experience in a manufacturing environment
