Security Training Specialist

<p>Malta International Airport plc is looking for responsible, diligent and energetic individuals who are passionate about the airport and about security and who are willing to continuously learn, develop, and be part of a high performance culture. The following vacancies have arisen within the Security Services Department.</p><p><strong>Purpose of Position:</strong></p><p>Responsible for overseeing and implementing security procedures especially at landside, airside, and Ministerial Area. </p><p><strong>Main Responsibilities</strong></p><ul> <li>To obtain Security knowledge in accordance to the Airport Security Programme (ASP), National Civil Aviation Security Programme (NCASP) in line with ICAO Annex 17, ECAC Doc 30, EC Regulation 300/2007.</li> <li>To implement and monitor procedures listed in point 1 and to issue guidelines in relation to security procedures as a means of proactive and reactive measures.</li> <li>Conduct security checks on landside, airside, and ministerial area. In addition, be the direct link between the security contractor and management.</li> <li>Record keeping of all security equipment and procedures in relation the aforementioned areas. This implies keeping up to date all security folders and online systems in accordance with security requirements set out by MIA plc. </li> <li>To coordinate with all airport entities, security contractors and personnel on issues of theft, pilferage and complaints.</li> <li>To become knowledgeable on Key Management System, Access Control, Visitor and Permanent Passes System. Furthermore, CCTV system and extracting data from Expert system. </li> </ul><ul> <li>To manage a team of instructors in the field of aviation security and administers a training programme for security staff as per provisions of the National training programme on aviation security;</li> <li>Adopt ways to automate, customize, innovate, optimize and simplify business processes and activity flows in support of the Company’s vision to provide guests with the best airport experience. </li> <li>Provide management with frequent feedback, report and recommendations from a security perspective as well as to enhance the guest experience.</li> </ul><p><strong>Requirements</strong></p><p>Applicants should:</p><ul> <li>Must have a minimum of an MQF Level 5 (Bachelors Degree) certification in a relevant field of study.</li> <li>Be resourceful with a can-do attitude.</li> <li>Be very conversant with MS Office in particular Powerpoint, and be capable of delivering presentations for training purposes</li> <li>Be capable of handling sensitive information and preparing security reports.</li> <li>Be capable of communicating effectively with all levels of staff, both in Maltese and English.</li> <li>Possess the ability to prioritise, and be proactive in identifying any shortcomings within the security operation.</li> <li>Be capable of motivating and leading the team.</li> </ul>
