Job Description

Accountable and responsible for planning, organizing, directing, and coordinating the overall operations of the Joint Venture Surgery Center at Meridian Mark Plaza. The Director ensures that high quality patient care is provided in an efficient and cost-effective manner with responsibility for the financial performance of the center. The Director coordinates all aspects of the business of this limited liability company and is accountable to its investors.

Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years management and administrative experience in a healthcare setting

Preferred Qualifications

  • MHA or MBA
  • Operational experience running a surgery center or in a surgical environment

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for operating the surgery center per operating agreement.
  • Accountable for performance and monitoring of critical business success factors for the surgery center including reporting to the surgery center Board: Financial indicators (productivity, price/cost, volume or utilization, contribution margin), Customer Service (employee, patient/family, physician), People (turnover data, vacancy rate), Quality (on time starts, occurrence trending), and Growth (market share, utilization trends, referral patterns, managed care positioning).
  • Responsible for ensuring the Surgery Center meets its charity care commitment on an annual basis. Works with entities and the community to further the Surgery Center's charitable purposes.
  • Manages and holds Children's departments accountable for providing management services to the Surgery Center per the Management Service Agreement. Accountable to ensure all functions are accomplished per Agreement.
  • Supervise and direct all surgery center personnel on a daily basis.
  • Responsible for strategic planning for the surgery center including development and implementation of business plans, goals, objectives, and guidelines.
  • Responsible for communication to investors on an ongoing basis, including quarterly performance results of critical success factors.
  • Serve as a liaison between the surgery center, the community, and other local health care providers.
  • Assure compliance with regulatory agency guidelines.
  • Maintain a collegial relationship with physicians to ensure quality patient care.
  • Responsible for fostering an environment which promotes staff growth and development.
  • Responsible for other functions as assigned by the surgery center Board of Managers or Vice President over the Surgery Center.
