Certified Nursing Assistant - Meng Residence


Unity Hospice is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our team at our Meng Residence. As a CNA, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality, personalized care to our patients and their families. You will work under the supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) to assist with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, mobility, and comfort measures, while ensuring the dignity and well-being of our patients. Your empathetic nature and strong communication skills will help foster a supportive environment for both patients and their loved ones during challenging times. 


Schedule: 24 hours per week, part-time 2x per week 6:00a-6:30p, every other weekend rotation, and 3-4 holidays per year.


Key Job Duties

Unity CNA staff can perform services/support in the following areas as directed by the RN:

  • Activities of Daily Living
  • Restorative Care
  • Skin Care
  • Mobility
  • Nutritional Support
  • Respiratory 
  • Bowel and Bladder
  • Reinforce Teaching
  • Supply ordering
  • Companionship and Support
  • Vital Signs
  • Reading of CADD pump settings
  • Report on pain rating
  • Maintain required competencies and skills
  • Report any changes in the patient’s condition or family situation immediately to the appropriate member(s) of the interdisciplinary team
  • Consistently and concisely document activity according to department protocols and standards. 
  • Comply with all applicable local, state and federal laws and regulations as well as policies and procedures of Unity
  • Satisfy mandatory training requirements regarding local, state and federal regulations and/or Unity’s policies and procedures
  • Promote and maintain confidentiality
  • Maintain personal and professional boundaries
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Maintain regular and reliable attendance
  • Shares in providing 24-hour, seven day-a-week coverage

Requirements

 

1.  Completion of certified nursing assistant program, OR Nursing student who has completed one semester of clinical experience

3.  Must be listed on the Wisconsin Nurse Aide Registry and be eligible to work at state and federally-certified facilities

4. Must be at least 18 years of age
