About the Role & Team
The Environmental Sustainability Line of Business is responsible for setting the strategy and leading the planning and development of environmental projects to achieve the Walt Disney Company’s 2030 environmental goals, which include emissions, water & oceans, waste, materials, and sustainable design.
As the Environmental Sustainability Content Manager, you will be responsible for developing and advising the implementation of a comprehensive communication strategy across all businesses to reduce the environmental impact. This includes providing educational and supporting content and environmental focuses to support implementation of sustainability projects driving environmental efficiencies such as expanding recycling infrastructure, plastics reduction, water stewardship, and energy efficiencies. You will align with key stakeholders and leadership to implement and sustain programs, integrating environmental sustainability into how Disney operates.
In this role, you will report to the Environmental Sustainability Director.
What You Will Do
- Develop engagement and storytelling strategies to create a culture of environmental sustainability, driving an understanding of the company’s environmental goals
- Collaborate with key stakeholders across Walt Disney World to communicate complex environmental challenges and drive compelling and engaging internal and external communications strategies that authentically represent our environmental sustainability commitments
- Provide direction and coordinate content development for environmental teams, including communication plans, content production, graphic packages, and resources and tools
- Lead a team of Project Managers, including recruiting, development, performance evaluations, defining scope of work and priorities
- Lead environmental sustainability recognition programs across Walt Disney World
Required Qualifications & Skills
- Ability to create a content strategy that drives environmental sustainability initiative adoption, with the agility to refocus and regularly reprioritize to ensure activities are tracking towards the strategy
- Collaboration skills with a particular competence for translating complex sustainability topics into simple, easy to understand concepts for partners
- Expertise in developing training programs and deployment plans to cultivate environmental engagement.
- Ability to lead large-scale cross functional teams to get results by developing long-term, trust-based relationships with key partners
- Conflict resolution and influence skills to negotiate solutions to challenges that may arise throughout the projects
- Ability to use strong problem-solving skills, project management, leadership, communication and influencing skills to lead and develop an impactful team
- Experience cultivating and maintaining positive relationships with media relations teams to position and publish environmental content (PA, GA, PR, etc.).
- Proficiency with Mac and Windows, as well as with Microsoft Suite, collaboration applications, project management and graphic design tools, (Adobe Suite, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, or equivalent), and website design in a WordPress environment.
- On average 5-20 hours per week doing field work, walking with partners onstage and backstage, performing studies, handling waste in a variety of different weather conditions. Ability to lift up to 40 pounds.

- Leadership experience
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, interpersonal communication, multimedia content management, change management, journalism, education, or related field or 5+ years of relevant work experience
Preferred Education
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience in related field
