Our units include the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies, the Office of Global Learning (Education Abroad & International Services), and the Office of the Vice Provost, which includes Global Operations and Communications teams.

Global Hubs (https://global.cornell.edu/hub/home) comprises a dynamic network of strategic partnerships with pe er institutions in select key locations worldwide. These partnerships empower us to support international research and education collaborations for faculty, provide a diverse range of student opportunities abroad, engage strategically with international alumni, and forge impactful connections to policymakers, NGOs, private sector actors, and local communities. Global Hubs is part of Global Operations and acts as the central point for managing and integrating Global Hubs’ diverse activities across Cornell. We are the coordinating office that ensures the smooth operation and successful execution of Global Hubs’ activities by fostering. collaboration with and serving as a resource to university leadership, faculty, and staff across Cornell’s colleges, schools, and programs.  Our office monitors the progress of projects and activities and evaluates outcomes to assess the effectiveness and impact of our activities.

The Opportunity

This administrative position supports the coordination of Global Hubs and other international activities which fall under the charge of the OVPIA.

Reporting to the Director of Global Hubs and working closely with the rest of the Global Operations team, the incumbent will develop and implement various projects for the Global Hubs initiative while providing high-level administrative support for Global Hubs leadership. This will include supporting the Director of Global Hubs, Global Hubs Steering Committee, and Global Hubs Faculty Advisory Committee members on partnership and program development, overseeing the Global Hubs joint seed fund grant program, conducting background research and creating briefings and reports, coordinating high-level international delegation visits and complex travel for Global Hubs site visits and events, collating and synthesizing information shared in committee meetings and gathered from meetings with Hubs partners and site visits, tracking Global Hubs activities, and other special projects as assigned.

The incumbent will be responsible for:

  • Oversight of the Global Hubs joint seed fund grant program to support collaborative research and education initiatives between Cornell and partner institution researchers. Responsibilities include launching researcher networking sessions; calls for proposals; coordinating proposal review and selection; budget planning and allocation; monitoring and tracking expenditures, progress monitoring; compliance; and stakeholder engagement. 
  • Complex project management from inception to completion across a broad range of activities, including international partnership building and other Global Hubs advancement projects.
  • Conducting background research, composing briefings, and preparing special reports on a broad range of topics to help inform strategic initiatives.
  • Coordinating high-level international delegation visits, complex travel for Global Hubs site visits and events, meetings, communication, documentation and recordkeeping, and follow-up activities.
  • Designing, implementing, managing, and optimizing complex recordkeeping and information management systems for tracking Global Hubs engagements and activities to ensure accuracy, reliability, efficiency, and compiling and preparing reports, presentations, and documents
  • Coordinating the negotiation of legal agreements, which may include negotiating standard terms and conditions.
  • Monitoring budgeting to ensure accuracy, budget forecasting and tracking, and financial processing.
  • Managing special projects for the Global Hubs initiative as needed and assigned.
