Job Summary

As an Internal Customer Service Representative in the electrical wholesale industry, you will be the face of the company for walk-in and account-based customers. Your role is to provide expert product guidance, process orders efficiently, and ensure a seamless customer experience. You’ll work closely with contractors, electricians, and procurement professionals to understand their electrical supply needs, recommend solutions, and support their projects from start to finish. This position requires strong product knowledge, excellent communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, service-driven environment.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Collaborate with leadership to identify, qualify, and grow small to mid-sized customer accounts.
  • Serve as the primary on-site contact for customers, providing product recommendations and technical support.
  • Understand customer needs through direct interaction and suggest appropriate electrical products and services.
  • Conduct product demonstrations and explain features, benefits, and applications relevant to electrical systems and installations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with contractors, electricians, and purchasing agents.
  • Maintain regular communication with existing and former customers to promote new products and services.
  • Accurately document all customer interactions, quotes, and sales in the CRM system.
  • Utilize CRM tools to manage customer data and support sales efforts.
  • Set up and manage Special Pricing Agreements (SPAs) in coordination with internal teams.
  • Provide accurate sales forecasts and contribute to branch sales goals.
  • Participate in product and industry training to stay current on electrical codes, trends, and technologies.
  • Communicate marketing campaigns and promotions to customers.
  • Promote the use of digital ordering platforms and connect customers with internal specialists when needed.


What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong customer service and relationship-building skills.
  • Sales and negotiation experience, preferably in electrical or industrial distribution.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Team-oriented with a collaborative mindset.
  • Proficient in Eclipse, SSM, Microsoft Office, and CRM systems.
  • Familiarity with electrical products, components, and industry terminology is highly preferred.


Physical Work Environment

  • Full-time position: 40 hours per week
  • Standard business hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM
  • This is an on-site role based in a branch or warehouse setting.
  • Frequent standing, walking, and interaction with customers at the counter or in the showroom.
  • Occasional lifting of products or materials up to 50 lbs.
  • Use of standard office equipment (computers, phones, printers) and warehouse tools as needed.
  • May require navigating warehouse aisles or assisting with product lookups and inventory checks.
