Responsibilities & Qualifications

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Implement database systems using a phased approach that includes requirements analysis, conceptual design, site surveys, system design review, critical design review, installation, integration, and testing.
• Conduct detailed requirements analysis to support a broad user base, particularly in the area of office automation and enterprise applications.
• Present database system designs and architectures for stakeholder approval at formal review milestones.
• Perform configuration management activities to ensure system integrity and traceability across the development lifecycle.
• Integrate database software and tools, ensuring alignment with system architecture and operational requirements.
• Interpret and evaluate software and system test results, identifying discrepancies and recommending corrective actions.
• Analyze software problem reports related to database systems and provide effective solutions, such as schema adjustments, patching, or tuning recommendations.
• Support database lifecycle activities including design, installation, configuration, maintenance, performance monitoring, and backup/restore operations.
• Collaborate with developers, system administrators, and cybersecurity personnel to ensure database environments are secure, optimized, and compliant with standards.
• Document database operations, system changes, and issue resolutions to ensure transparency, knowledge sharing and audit readiness.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Experience:

• 5 years of relevant experience in database management, administration, or software/system integration roles.
• Demonstrated experience supporting the full system lifecycle, including maintenance, administration, and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of configuration management principles, data integrity practices, and integration workflows.
• Proficiency with common relational database systems (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and associated tools.
• Ability to analyze test results and troubleshoot system or software failures efficiently.
• Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in IT environments.

Certifications

• Relevant certification from a nationally recognized technical authority (e.g., Oracle Certified Professional, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator, or equivalent).
• DoD 8570 IAT Level II Baseline Certification
• COMPTIA Security+ CE
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • COMPTIA Cybersecurity Analyst (CySA+)
  • Global Industriel Cyber Security Professional (GICSP)
  • Global Information Assurance Certification (GAIC) Security Essentials Certification (GSEC)
  • Certified Network Defender (CND)
  • Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP)

Clearance

• Secret - IT-II Non-Critical Sensitive or Tier 3 (T3) clearance
