Position Overview

United Health Services (UHS) is seeking an experienced and compassionate Clinical Lead Registered Nurse to join our Infusion Center team. In this leadership role, you'll oversee clinical operations, coordinate patient care plans, mentor nursing staff, and ensure high standards of safety and quality in every infusion treatment delivered.

Compensation Range:

$37.00 - $55.50 per hour, depending on experience

Job Responsibilities:

  • Leads the orientation, training, and competency assessments of new clinical staff; ensures timely completion of required annual competencies for all existing staff.

  • Collaborates with the supervisor to develop and manage clinical schedules, ensuring appropriate coverage for extended hours and seamless patient care.

  • Offers guidance and supervision to LPNs and Medical Assistants, ensuring all care provided is within their respective scopes of practice and meets clinical standards.

  • Performs rapid assessments of acutely ill or injured patients, identifies early warning signs, and initiates timely nursing interventions to prevent complications.

  • Works alongside urgent care providers to stabilize critically ill patients and coordinates transport to higher levels of care using sound clinical judgment.

  • Provides accurate and timely communication with EMS and transport teams to ensure continuity of care during patient transfers.

  • Delivers patient and family education related to health promotion, disease prevention, and chronic disease management using up-to-date clinical resources.

  • Acts as a first responder to urgent/emergent situations in the clinic, providing stabilizing treatment and leading the clinical response team.

  • Uses current pharmacological knowledge to administer medications in accordance with UHS policies and evidence-based nursing practices.

  • Performs and monitors CLIA-waived tests, ensures compliance with quality controls, manages proficiency testing (e.g., AAFP Lab Proficiency), and maintains lab credentialing requirements.

  • Facilitates communication and collaboration among patients, families, and multidisciplinary team members to coordinate and enhance patient care delivery.

  • Assists with performance improvement initiatives, tracks quality metrics, and supports compliance with Joint Commission, NYS DOH, and Infection Control standards. Acts as a clinical resource and provides updates to staff on regulatory changes.

Position Qualifications:

Minimum Required:

  • Graduate of an accredited school of registered nursing.

  • At least 1 year experience in health care setting with evidence of having obtained proficiency in those areas emphasized in the Registered Nurse curriculum.

  • Current NY State RN license.

  • Documentation of current CPR certification required within 1 week of start of employment.

Preferred:

  • Previous experience in a walk in / primary care/ specialty care setting.

  • Office specific- IE: Oncology Cert, Lactation Consultant , Wound / Ostomy Cert
